Four seasons at Greenacre Lodge

Our holiday cottage is the most wonderful place to stay – and that’s not just my opinion, take a look at our reviews! Each season of the year is just as beautiful. Our garden isn’t finely manicured but is a happy mix of flowers, trees, people, toys and wildlife! Spring brings daffodils in abundance and the bird song is amazing! The Lodge garden is private and a real sun trap for most of the day in summer. Apples, pears, plums, cobnuts, figs and quince all ripen in the sun whilst blackberries are abundant in the garden hedgerows as Autumn draws in. Last winter, we had exciting falls of snow and living in a village at the top of a hill, we had a few days when we couldn’t get out of the village – total peace! Come and experience the joys of Greenacre Lodge in 2019, we are looking forward to meeting you!

Summer days!

Summer Days

Make the most of the long, summer evenings watching the bats, enjoying the stars, sipping a cold white wine at Greenacre Lodge. The decking is just waiting for you! Take a soft, fluffy blanket out and curl up on our comfy chairs with a book or some music Рthere is nothing more relaxing than being at Greenacre Lodge on a warm summer evening. Book now to make sure you get one of the last remaining 4 weeks available before September!

Looking forward to a busy year

Our first guests of 2018 arrive on Friday and we have a busy year after that. There are a few weeks available during the year but don’t leave it too late to book – once people have stayed here, they almost always book again!

Beautiful!

Our garden at Greenacre House is looking beautiful at the moment and when you stay at Greenacre Lodge, it’s all yours to share and explore. This is just a small selection of the fantastic flowers on show this weekend. Soon the vegetables will become the stars of the show and we are happy to share these with our guests too.

Suffolk village, Hinderclay

We live in a wonderful, peaceful village in north Suffolk, situated just at the start of the Waveney Valley. We are 45 minutes from both Norwich and Cambridge if you fancy shopping or sightseeing. A day trip to London will take just an hour and a half from Diss station. Locally, you can walk, fish, birdwatch, eat, play – there’s so much to do that a week’s holiday will never be long enough! And if it’s just peace and quiet you want, just relax on the decking in your own private garden, where most of the time, all you will be able to hear is birdsong! Irresistible!

Beautiful day!

The garden is looking great at Greenacre Lodge – the early summer flowers are blooming.

Visit the Waveney Valley!

There’s so much to do in the beautiful Waveney Valley – you could stay for a month and only just scratch the surface. Greenacre Lodge is situated just at the start of the Valley so couldn’t be a better place to start!

And from the vegetable patch…

…we bring you ongoing curly kale, leeks, carrots, beetroot and sprouts.

The big flower bed is coloured with tones of the earth just to remind us of where we have come from but it won’t be long till the bulbs are giving us Spring colour!

A beautiful day in Hinderclay

Our chooks are out sunning themselves on this beautiful sunny January day. The garden is a bit wet from all the winter rain but on a day like today, it really makes you want to get out there and start gardening for the Spring! Especially with all the bulbs and primroses coming up so early, because of the mild winter we have had.
