Our holiday cottage is the most wonderful place to stay – and that’s not just my opinion, take a look at our reviews! Each season of the year is just as beautiful. Our garden isn’t finely manicured but is a happy mix of flowers, trees, people, toys and wildlife! Spring brings daffodils in abundance and the bird song is amazing! The Lodge garden is private and a real sun trap for most of the day in summer. Apples, pears, plums, cobnuts, figs and quince all ripen in the sun whilst blackberries are abundant in the garden hedgerows as Autumn draws in. Last winter, we had exciting falls of snow and living in a village at the top of a hill, we had a few days when we couldn’t get out of the village – total peace! Come and experience the joys of Greenacre Lodge in 2019, we are looking forward to meeting you!
Make the most of the long, summer evenings watching the bats, enjoying the stars, sipping a cold white wine at Greenacre Lodge. The decking is just waiting for you! Take a soft, fluffy blanket out and curl up on our comfy chairs with a book or some music – there is nothing more relaxing than being at Greenacre Lodge on a warm summer evening. Book now to make sure you get one of the last remaining 4 weeks available before September!
Our beautiful Lodge needs you to make it come alive – we have very limited availability left during June and August although you might be lucky with a last minute week so take a look and make us an offer! There is plenty of space to enjoy the Autumn with us though; the local areas is beautiful at this time of year, with very low rainfall and amazing walks, cycling and rivers to enjoy. Equally, we have easy access to Cambridge, Norwich, Bury St Edmunds and Ipswich for sightseeing and shopping. The Christmas market in Bury St Edmunds is amazing and we will offer a taxi service for you so you don’t even have to worry about parking! Hurry though, the weeks will go very quickly and you don’t want to miss out!
Our garden is a very special place – partly wild so we continue to encourage the wildlife and wild fruit in the hedgerows and partly developed so we can grow flowers and edible produce. There is space to play, for children and adults alike, or to relax and chill in the sun. At night, make the most of the darkness to see stars like you have never seen them before. Share space with the bats, the deer, the chickens, the hares. Enjoy our garden with us and you will find a little piece of Suffolk that you won’t want to leave!
We are excited at the amount of bookings we have taken in our first year and you only have just a few weeks left of the Autumn to experience the fantastic Greenacre Lodge! Book quickly because the weeks are going fast. One of our guests said this week that ‘the whole place is perfect!’ To celebrate our first year of Greenacre Lodge, we’ve decided to let you book 2017 holidays at 2016 prices for a few more weeks so take up the offer before it’s too late!! We look forward to meeting you very soon!
If you want a cheeky break in the October half term holiday, why not check out Greenacre Lodge? The price comes down in time for the school holiday and you will find everything you need to have a fantastic week away. There is plenty to do around Hinderclay so you and the children will never be bored. Take a look at our availability page and contact us direct to book.
Everything is growing now at Greenacre Lodge – strawberries are ripening, gooseberries are getting bigger, the herb bed is overflowing and the chicks are double the size they were two weeks ago! The veg patch is looking great and the figs are big and juicy this year – the first year we’ve got the pruning right maybe! Our plum and greengage trees were pruned hard this spring and so far don’t show any signs of fruiting but the apples and cherries are doing well.
Our garden at Greenacre House is looking beautiful at the moment and when you stay at Greenacre Lodge, it’s all yours to share and explore. This is just a small selection of the fantastic flowers on show this weekend. Soon the vegetables will become the stars of the show and we are happy to share these with our guests too.
We live in a wonderful, peaceful village in north Suffolk, situated just at the start of the Waveney Valley. We are 45 minutes from both Norwich and Cambridge if you fancy shopping or sightseeing. A day trip to London will take just an hour and a half from Diss station. Locally, you can walk, fish, birdwatch, eat, play – there’s so much to do that a week’s holiday will never be long enough! And if it’s just peace and quiet you want, just relax on the decking in your own private garden, where most of the time, all you will be able to hear is birdsong! Irresistible!
