Ok so we know you won’t find a tropical island or a coconut tree to lie under in Suffolk! But we do know that you will find the most relaxing county (in our opinion!) in England to spend your holiday in.
In Suffolk, you can find almost anything you want in the way of beaches and countryside. There are sandy beaches (Southwold, Lowestoft, Felixstowe for example) and stony beaches (Aldeburgh would fit the bill nicely), all fronting on to the wild North Sea. For countryside, you can find farmland walks, fens, broads, more urban areas, lakes, wildlife areas and more.
Suffolk is the driest county in England, which means that you stand a very good chance of having good weather on your holiday! You can spend all of the holiday at The Lodge, enjoying the garden and decking, barbeques and restful activities such as reading and listening to music. Or you might want to take a more energetic approach and do some of the local walks or cycle rides. You will find Knettishall Heath, based in Breckland which is one of the UK’s biodiversity hotspots, just a few miles from Hinderclay. Find out more about what this areas of Special Scientific Interest has to offer here http://www.suffolkwildlifetrust.org/reserves/knettishall-heath. You will find some brilliant walks here, some accessible and some more wild. There are a number of Suffolk Wild Life sites close by, in particular Redgrave and Lopham Fen which is just a couple of miles from The Lodge, where you will find regular activities to take part in for all ages.
